Oh Cletus the Fetus!

Meet Fitty Cent! He is one of my breeders finest bully's! Their Stud!!! Now Imagine Cletus, boy or girl, with a pink tutu sewn on his/her harness! Did you smile? Good! That picture in your imagination will be headed to reality soon!

So, Part of the reason that I am blogging about my getting Cletus, is that I'm so excited and I want to share with the people in my life this milestone. 5 years sober, feels pretty big and its kind of funny to me that I made that goal from the git go, to get a Cletus when I turn 5!

Anyway, the other reason I am blogging is to humbly ask for donations towards my getting Cletus! Its the whole why I'm getting a Bulldog from a breeder thing! I was recently met with some distaste by an individual as to why I wouldn't just get any dog from a rescue. P.S. I totally understand that perspective! However, I want an English Bulldog...it feels really important to me to have a healthy Bully! So, a fantastic Breeder it is! They have had a wonder record of healthy Bulldogs who have lived long lives! They are actively involved in the Bulldog club of America and Colorado!

I will keep you all posted with more pics of their bulldog clan!

I hope that you consider making a donation! I would appreciate it!

Humbly yours with dreams of Cletus!

Cletus Conceived!

January 17, 2005: Laurie gets sober and decides that in 5 years, on her fifth birthday she would get a bulldog puppy and name the puppy "Cletus"
January 17, 2010: Laurie turns 5. (There is much rejoicing - but where is the puppy?)

So . . .Here I am, in Denver, in contact with a fantastic Bulldog breeder (brief political sidenote: sure, some people have criticisms about getting dogs from breeders - and those are valid concerns - but 5 years sober is no chump change and getting me through those five years was the vision of a healthy, happy bulldog puppy. If you want the entire, very well-thought out rhetorical response, please contact me individually) and have just received word that . . .wait for it . . .
CLETUS HAS BEEN CONCEIVED!

Which means . . .I need some cash to give the breeder to make sure that little Cletus gets to come to my happy home once little Cletus turns 8 weeks old. Cletus will likely be born sometime in August, and would get to come home with me sometime in October or November - just in time for my 30th birthday!  (So, you could also consider your donation to the Cash4Cletus Fund as a Happy Birthday Laurie gift!)

I (and by "I," I mean "my fabulous girlfriend Andie") will be giving you updates about Cletus' time in utero and post-partum, including pictures of Cletus' mama bulldog, those wonderful breeders I mentioned, and lots of shots of Cletus' early days!

To donate, just click the button on the side of this blog - you can use your debit card, credit card, or paypal account - and its all totally secure! Whatever you can donate would be so helpful!

Please help me celebrate five incredible years of sobriety! I am so grateful for the opportunity to be here with all of you, celebrating my sober life.

Sending Much Love and Lots of Bulldog Smooches to YOU,
Laurie
